 Select Instructional Strategies

So far, you have identified the instructional goal, objectives, subordinate and entry skills. You also interviewed learners and have knowledge about their motivation, skill levels, etc. The activity of this assignment is to select instructional strategies to support the implementation of above goals and objectives.  

Develop a plan that the following instructional strategies are used to support learning. Be specific about which of the following instructional strategies will be applied to support which part of the content delivery.  

1. Develop pre instructional activities

   1. Activities for motivation: attention, relevance, confidence, and satisfaction

   2. Inform learners of objectives

   3. Link new content to existing knowledge/skills

2. Content presentation

   1. Sequencing

   2. Ways to reduce cognitive overload

   3. Organizing structures

   4. Provide examples and nonexamples

   5. Creating ways of organizing new into existing skills

3. Learner participation

   1. Progress from less to more difficult

   2. Use familiar contexts

   3. Provide condition similar to performance context

   4. Engage in reflective thinking through feedback

   1. Promote knowledge transfer

   2. Ensure job environment receptive

   3. Apply learning experience to new applications
